Condolences to Max Tate and family

Ruth was a wonderful person who everyone liked. She did so much for us, including directing many of our tournaments! She will be missed very much.

On behalf of the CNSA we send our deepest condolences to Max Tate and family on the passing of Ruth Tate on June 4th. Ruth was a great asset to the running of the CNSA. She was Tournament director from 2005-2015 and participated on various committees. Ruth was greatly respected within the shuffleboard community. This respect was marked by her being inducted into the CNSA Hall of Fame in 2022. Her strong organizational skills and her contagious smile will certainly be missed.

I did not get the pleasure of playing with Ruth much. I know my Dad spoke so highly of both Ruth and Max. They travelled to ISA tournaments together. From the little bit I did get to know Ruth, I knew her as an excellent player, smart, a good story teller, and just a fun person to be around. I too send my sincerest condolences to Max and their family.
