May 28 – 30 is fast approaching. I can’t wait. Amateurs play on Tuesday, May 28. Registration is between 8:00am and 8:30am. You will get your annual OSA membership card at one table for $5/year/member. You will register for the tournament at another table and it’ll be $20 per team. Teams are “any doubles”. Amateurs will play five games between 9:00am and 4:15pm. There will be a short lunch break. There is a food truck across the road and a Timmie’s within walking distance.
The open tournament is Wednesday, May 29. Amateurs are more than welcome to play in the open tournament. Many go on to take down an expert team or two. The registration tables will be set up at the same time and the five games will play just like the amateur tournament. The only difference is that the top eight teams will come back on Day 3 for the finals. If a team is unable to come back for the finals, they are asked to inform the tournament director so that the ninth place team can move up.
The eight top teams will play two matches on Day 3. Each match will be a best of three games. We should be finished by 1:00pm on Thursday.
Our tournaments are competitive but fun. If you don’t have an enjoyable experience, I have failed as both the President and Tournament Director.
See you there. 🙂
