Here’s a quick update. Each province is allowed to send a certain number of players. Many jurisdictions cannot meet their numbers. Underlying issues are to have enough players to make the tournament enjoyable, competitive, and financially viable. As such, the host province (and other provinces, when possible) are often asked to “fill in” the needed slots.
What does this mean? Ontario will be the last province to make their selection. We first need to know the number of players we can enter into the tournament and then make that selection accordingly.
I know that Norm and the other provinces are working hard at getting their numbers together. I will certainly commit to getting our players selected very quickly after I know the numbers. All players will be notified whether selected or not.
Thanks for your patience.
I can say we have a very strong selection of players to choose from in Ontario. All our applicants are capable of winning the Gold. 🙂
