Accommodations and dining

Here are the recommendations from our tournament hosts (and where Ann and I stay or will stay). Please add places if you have a favourite hotel/motel and/or restaurant:

Ingersoll – Comfort Inn or Elmhurst Inn. Tim Hortons is walking distance from the facilities. Lots of restaurants in the area including Chuck’s Roadhouse, St. Louis Pizza, Ingersoll Golf Course, etc. This is the only location Ann and I can drive to so I don’t have any experience in this area.

Elora – Village Inn and a few chain motels/hotels. Lots of good restaurants in the area. We are booked at the Village Inn. Nothing to write home about but it has actually gotten better the last time or two we’ve been there. There’s a Timmie’s and Family Restaurant just up the street from there.

Goderich – Ann and I have always stayed at the Bedford Inn. There are many good places in the area. We like the restaurant next door to the Bedford Inn too. 🙂

Chatham – The Comfort Inn and the Holiday Inn next to the Casino are great places. Lots of good restaurants. The restaurant at the Casino has always been very good. Ann and I are booked at the Holiday Inn this year.

Rodney – Accommodations include the Best Western Plus Stoneridge Inn (30 minutes away) and two RV Parks: Lakewood Resort and Port Glasgow Trailer Park. There are restaurants in Rodney for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (Shannon’s, Southside, Tim Hortons, and Out to Lunch and Sam’s Diner in nearby West Lorne. Ann and I are booked at the BWP Stoneridge this time. Their restaurant looks good too.

Blenheim – See the Chatham locations. CM Wilson Conservation Area is great for the RVers. Ann and I are booked at the Holiday Inn near the Casino.

Hi Folks…for the Rodney event, the Port Glasgow trailer park is run by the municipality and is a lot less $. You’ll hafta book as soon as possible…the transient sites fill quickly.

Grocery store is in town, but no fuel here yet. Yes at West Lorne & Dutton.

There will be either a food truck or the kitchen will be in full swing for lunches Tuesday & Wednesday & snacks, as far as I know at this time. Probably a local service group.

Any questions on Rodney stuff, please don’t hesitate to ask by email or cell.
